Our Stories

Pastor Alex would like for you to tell your story: the story of how God is moving in your life. There is a link below to a form you can download.  Please fill out the form and e-mail it to our office or share it during Sunday Service.  This is an open invitation to anyone is willing to share. Let’s encourage one another by sharing our stories so we are better able to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ!!

Join us for Worship Sunday, May 13!

In worship this Sunday, May 13, Pastor Alex will speak on “A Helping Hand”.

It is based on scripture from Mark 1:29-31.

Simon’s mother-in-law was sick. On a high and holy day, Jesus took the time to respond to her need. The text says that the people concerned about her told Him she was sick. Jesus went to her, took her hand and helped her up. This process teaches us how to help one another.

As those in the text, we must make our needs known to God in prayer. As the text reveals a process in her healing, we learn that God’s help is not one episode but a process. As Simon’s mother-in-law is shown passing the blessing of Christ to others, so can we use the strength of God’s help in our lives to help other people. We see and learn more this week about the way God moves in our lives.

Calling All Students and Church Families!

The UBC Home Away from Home Program

We are seeking to re-establish a former and successful outreach program that provides a UBC family for an MSU student.  Here is a list of the kinds of service the families provided to an MSU student assigned to their care.

Goal–Pair a UBC family with one or two MSU students to meet some or all of the following student needs:

▪   Meal or dinner with family 1 to 4 times a month.

▪   Occasional transportation as needed

▪   Introduction to community resources, i.e., car repair, shopping bargains, fun things to do.

▪   Provide advice and counsel on adjusting to college life as needed.

Off campus home away from home such as quiet place to study for finals, spare bedroom during campus holidays, a place to come hang out with adult company.

If you would be interested in participating in this program, either as a student or as a potential home away from home, please let us know!
